Portsmouth Storyteller Singer Denise Whittier and friends Stephen Rainville and Joyce Flanagan from Burlington, VT, mine their extensive repertoire of odd-ball cabaret songs and beloved Broadway tunes to create a sassy and sophisticated salute to mothers with songs that will tickle your funny bone and touch your tender heart! Whittier has most recently performed two sold-out solo shows, “Story Songs,” and “Broadway’s Best, A Tribute to the Leading Ladies,” at Seacoast Rep and another, “A Cabaret with Denise Whittier and Friends, “ at Seacoast Rep with Rainville and Flanagan.
The cabaret beneficiary, Voices from the Heart, directed by Joanne Connolly, is a 200-voiced women's alternative chorus singing music from many cultural and musical traditions. Cultural exchange through music is an important aspect of the Voices' chorus culture. Voices will be traveling to Cuba on June 30, 2012 for a 10-day cultural exchange tour!
