Bluegrass songstress and virtuoso mandolin player Sierra Hull, called a 'prodigious talent' by The New York Times, will give two performances tonight at the Music Hall Loft: 7pm and 9pm.
Ms. Hull began playing the mandolin at the age of eight and two years later produced a self-released CD, Angel Mountain, receiving national acclaim as a bluegrass prodigy. She was only 11 when she debuted at the Grand Ole Opry and the now-legendary Alison Krauss took notice of Hull’s talents and became her mentor. By the time she hit her teens, she was signed to the venerable New England roots label Rounder Records. In 2008 when Hull was just 15, Krauss co-produced Hull’s debut album on Rounder Records, Secrets. Earlier this year, Krauss co-produced her second album on Rounder Records, Daybreak. 'Success could not come to a more worthy person. I adore her,' says Krauss.
