  • South Church Alternative Gift Fair – On December 7th, the South Church will be hosting its annual Alternative Gift Fair. All products and gifts are fair trade, and support local artists, as well as artisans from all over the world. Skip the craziness in the mall parking lot, and opt for something different this Holiday season!
  • Center for Wildlife’s Annual Holiday Bazaar – For three weekends this winter, the Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick is open to the public and filled with nature-inspired gifts. Bonus: While you’re there, you can meet the resident owl, hawk, falcon, and more!

  • Greenland Women’s Club Pie Festival - Need a pie for Thanksgiving, a Holiday party, or just because you love pie? The Greenland Women’s Club is hosting their 24th Annual Pie Festival (and Craft Fair!) That’s right, you can buy a homemade pie! Better yet – proceeds from pie sales go towards the Women’s Club, which has supported and donated to many local organizations, family agencies, and more.
  • Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra – Visit the Music Hall on December 2nd and 3rd and let the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra and the York Chamber Singers get you in the Holiday spirit!
  • Strawbery Banke Candlelight Stroll – Take a holiday stroll through the Banke and celebrate the holidays as they were hundreds of years ago. Saturdays from 5-9 pm and Sundays from 4-8 pm in the month of December!
  • First Night Portsmouth – It may be a ways away, but 2015 is coming. (Fast.) Plan your night out in Portsmouth now! Why not stay in town and enjoy all the events safely?

For Sports Fans:

  • UNH Hockey - Nothing says winter like watching a local college team crush the competition. Grab some cocoa and settle in for the show.
  • Puddle Dock Pond – Want to get on the ice yourself? Puddle Dock Pond opens December 1st!
  • Simulator Golf – Golf season may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still play! Pease has an indoor simulator, where you can play over 30 different courses.
  • Winter Surfing – For the surfers in our midst, winter is one of the best seasons to hit the beach in New Hampshire. Sure, it’s really cold, but the waves are pretty sweet. Plus, you can always buy your own portable sauna to relax in after you’re done!

For Home Bodies:

  • Let’s face it, it’s hard to leave the cozy warmth of your bed in the morning, especially in the winter. Luckily, Target sells heated blankets for just $29.99. Wrap yourself up and move to the couch.
  • Also, stock up on some good food. Maybe that pie we mentioned earlier.
