Families First Gets $5K from Bank Foundation
Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation makes second grant to Portsmouth org.

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation recently awarded $5,000 to Families First Health & Support Center, the second grant the bank has made to Families First. The money will support parent education, which Families First provides both through classes and in a hands-on, playgroup setting.
“This grant helps us remove a barrier that could keep low-income families from participating, by allowing us to offer parenting classes at no charge,” said Families First Executive Director Helen Taft. “This is especially important to our goal of helping the families who face the biggest risk factors to get their children off to the best possible start in life.”
“Families First’s parent education programs are vital for Seacoast families. Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank and its Charitable Foundation have an unwavering commitment of collaborating with local organizations to assist the youth and their families in the communities we serve,” said Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank president and CEO Janice Morse.
