Fishtival, Art Garfunkel on Tap This Weekend

Prescott Park Arts Festival's NH Fish and Lobster Festival Saturday; Art Garfunkel plays at the Music Hall on Friday night; Dan Walker Band rocks the Press Room Saturday night.

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.

1. Don't miss Fishtival: The Prescott Park Arts Festival's fourth annual New Hampshire Fish and Lobster Festival is happening on Saturday beginning at 12 noon and offers patrons a chance to sample local seafood.

2. Art Garfunkel at Music Hall: Art Garfunkel, the other half of the classic 1960s folk duo Simon and Garfunkel, will perform a concert on Friday night at the Music Hall at 8. Tickets are still available.

3. Upside of Being Down: The Players Ring's production of the musical "The Upside of Being Down" by Miles Burns continues this weekend with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15 per person.

4. See the Groove Cats, baby: The Groove Cats will perform at the Dolphin Striker on Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and there is no cover charge.

5.: Don't miss Dan Walker Band: The Press Room is always a great venue for live music and this Saturday the Dan Walker Band will be rocking the house at 9 p.m. following Deidre Randall's opening set. There is a $5 cover charge for Saturday's show.
