Five Places to Buy Christmas Trees

As Portsmouth area residents get into the real Christmas rush of the holiday season, buying the family Christmas tree is definitely high on the list of holiday season priorities for many.

Here are five places in the Portsmouth area that sell fresh Christmas trees right off the lot and some cut your own farms.

1. Portsmouth Rotary Club: For the 39th year, the Portsmouth Rotary Club is holding its and this year it is being held in Lafayette Plaza from now until Dec. 24. The prices range from $47 and $52 for premium trees to $25 for tabletop trees.

2. Wal-Mart: The giant retailer is selling fresh cut Christmas trees in front its store on Lafayette Road that range in price from $19.88 for five-foot trees to $44.96 for 7- to 8-foot Christmas trees.

3. Kittery Lions Club: Just across the Piscataqua River in neighboring Kittery, Maine, the Kittery Lions Club is holdings its annual Christmas tree sale.

4. Balsam Acres: On Route 33 in Greenland, Balsam Acres gives families to go out and cut their own Christmas tree. The tree farm will supply tree saws and help customers load their trees onto their vehicles for the safe journey home.

5. DeMerritt Hill Farm: In nearby Lee, families can also enjoy cutting their own tree at DeMerritt Hill Farm on Route 155.
