Four Charged During Portsmouth Sobriety Checkpoint
Charges range from driving while intoxicated to an open container violation.
The Portsmouth Police Department netted four individuals with charges after a sobriety checkpoint that was performed on July 25, according to a press statement.
Kenneth Davis, 26, of Woodland Park Drive in Haverhill, MA, was arrested and charged with DWI. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Aug. 18.
Jonathan Blair, 27, of Winter Street in Dover, was cited on an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle violation. He’s due in court on Aug. 18.

Two drug arrests were also made but the names of the individuals were not released, according to Capt. Frank Warchol stated in an email, “No other information is available at this time on those arrests due to the ongoing investigation.”
The checkpoint was conducted on Middle Street at Middle Road and was authorized by the Rockingham County Superior Court. Nearly 200 drivers were screened between 10:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Assisting in the operation were members of the Portsmouth Police Explorer Post, according to Warchol.
