GoFundMe Effort Launched For Portsmouth Police Sergeant’s Son
Dave Keaveny, a Salem native, recently received news that his son, Brooks, has neuroblastoma. The boy is undergoing treatment in Maine.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A fundraising effort has been launched to raise $50,000 to offset the cost of a police sergeant’s son that has pediatric cancer. Brooks Keaveny, the son of Portsmouth Police Sgt. Dave Keaveny and his wife, Bryn, has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma – a nerve cell cancer found in infants and young children. Brooks is currently undergoing treatment at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
“Brooks’ treatment will be intensive and ongoing,” noted Seth Tondreault, a family member, in a GoFundMe effort has been launched hoping to raise to offset the costs of the treatment and support the family.
Donations are also being accepted via the Portsmouth Police Relief Association and will be provided directly to the Keaveny Family.

Anyone wishing to donate in person, may do so directly at Portsmouth Police Department, 3 Junkins Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801. Checks can be made payable to Portsmouth Police Relief Association (PPRA), Memo: Brooks Keaveny.
Both the Portsmouth and Salem Police Departments have been promoting the effort on social media. As of post time, more than $27,000 had been raised in less than 24 hours.
