Grant to Boost Families First's IT Capability
The McIninch Foundation has donated $5,000 to the center.

A $5,000 grant from The McIninch Foundation will help Families First Health and Support Center upgrade the information technology equipment used in its exam rooms. The upgrades are needed so that Families First can comply with new security requirements and changes made by the federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services that impact the health center’s electronic medical record system.
The McIninch Foundation grant will be used to purchase equipment to enable WiFi access and printing from within exam rooms at Families First Health Center. “The new equipment will support patient education and provider productivity,” said Families First Information Technology Director Sandie York.
In-room printing capability will also help Families First meet a requirement of the federal government’s “Meaningful Use” program (relating to use of electronic health records) – that a high percentage of patients be given a written summary of their visit. Families First is rewarded financially for meeting such requirements.
