Greengard Center for Autism Therapeutic Activity Program

The Greengard Center is announcing a new activity group for adolescents/young adults with autism spectrum disorder.

The Greengard Center for Autism is excited to announce a new Therapeutic
Activity Program.

The first group is for adolescents (14 - 18 years old) with autism spectrum disorder beginning this summer and meeting once weekly (Thursdays, 6 - 8 pm) for ten weeks. This Therapeutic Activity Program is designed to help participants to: 1) promote social interaction; 2) improve communication, coping and tolerance; 3) strengthen physical fitness; 4) develop interests and leisure activities; 5) provide community opportunities; 6) and build confidence and
independence. This program involves a purposeful recreational group directed toward achieving individualized goals and providing opportunities to improve social interaction and behavior while engaging in structured recreation. The program, located at the Greengard Center (Portsmouth) and community, will provide goal-directed activities for individuals with autism. The Greengard Center would appreciate your sharing this information with any family with an
adolescent that might benefit from this program.

A generous Express Grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has made it possible to offer this group at no cost.
