Hampton Beach State Park Manager Throws Out Ceremonial First Pitch At NH Fisher Cats Game
Ken Murby Honored as a Bellwether Community Champion

Ken Murby was recently honored as a recipient of the Bellwether Community Champion award, presented to individuals who have made a positive impact in the lives of others and their community. On August 15, he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the New Hampshire Fisher Cats game and was celebrated during an on field, pregame presentation.
While on duty as the manager of Hampton Beach State Park, Ken Murby didn’t hesitate when he learned that two men were washed off the Hampton Beach jetty and drowning. After a camper alerted him of the situation, Murby immediately rushed to the jetty and pulled both men to safety. Thanks to Murby’s quick reaction, the two men survived the incident.

This isn’t the first time Murby has risked his life to save someone. While serving as a Manchester police officer in the 1980s, he helped save several people during an apartment fire. Murby’s selflessness in assisting others in their time of need is what makes him a true champion.
