Help SAFER Fulfill its Dream of Opening a Cat Sanctuary
SAFER is in need of an expansion! Help SAFER fulfill its dream of opening a cat sanctuary in the Seacoast.
Founded in 1998, by a group of caring residents, SAFER (Seacoast Area Feline Education & Rescue) is a non-profit organization located in Hampton, NH that serves the Seacoast area and beyond. Staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to the well-being of local feral and homeless cats and kittens; our mission is to humanely trap and neuter those cats while working to improve the quality of life for the cats in our care
Our volunteers work with both feral and homeless cats. Feral cats are the offspring of domestic, unneutered cats that have been allowed to run free or are abandoned. SAFER volunteers maintain multiple stations in the Seacoast area where we are able to monitor our feral community cats. Our community cats have been trapped, neutered and released in order to cut down on the ever-growing litter population. Volunteers also foster socialized cats and kittens, assist with trapping, and vet trips.
When trapping cats, SAFER often encounters cats that, for multiple reasons, cannot return to the wild after being vetted. SAFER keeps these cats in our care; because of this, SAFER has grown out of its physical space. SAFER’s cats need a safe indoor and outdoor area to roam, as they please.

In order for us to ensure we can continue to provide these cats with the care and medical attention they need for years to come, SAFER is in need of an expansion -- a new place to house these cats. We are in search for property (a building with acreage) to call our own. This space would allow us to continue our efforts by working to improve the quality of life for these cats. A building with acreage would give us the ability to provide a safe outdoor space for the feral cats that cannot return to the wild and those that can be socialized and adopted.
This is why SAFER needs your help! Do you have property you would like to donate? As we mentioned, we are in need of a building/barn with electricity & running water that offers some acreage. Donor could potentially use as a tax write off, with confirmation from their accountant, estate planning, legacy gifts -- please keep SAFER in mind, our kittens and cats thank you!
