Ice Festival, Comedy and Music this Weekend
Ice Festival will benefit nonprofits; "Vagina Monologues" at the Rep.; comedian Mike MacDonald at The Music Hall.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. Cool down with Ice Festival: The Portsmouth Gas Light Co. will host the second annual Ice Festival beginning on Friday at 5 p.m. through Sunday. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pro Portsmouth, the Seacoast Repertory Theatre and No Kid Hungry/Share Our Strength.
2. "Vagina Monologues" at the Rep: "The Vagina Monologues" will be performed at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre this weekend as a post Valentine's Day tour de force. Written by Eve Ensler and presented by Back Alley Productions, the play will be performed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.

3. Comedy at Music Hall: Mike MacDonald's 11th Annual Comedy Xxtra-Vaganza will feature MacDonald and three other great comedians at the Music Hall on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $34 to $37 each.
4. Dan Walker Band at Press Room: If you crave some great live music in one of Portsmouth's best venues, don't miss the Dan Walker Band at the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover.

5. Discover Portsmouth Center: The Discover Portsmouth Center on Middle Street is always a great place for families to learn more about the city's history and cultural heritage.
