IMAGE GALLERY: Easter Egg Hunt a Pure Delight
Portsmouth area children ages preschool through second grade loved meeting the Easter Bunny and collecting his bountiful treats on Saturday.
A combination of beautiful sunshine, comfortable temperatures and, of course, the opportunity to meet the one and only Easter Bunny drew hundreds of Portsmouth area children and their parents to Langdon Park for the city's annual Easter Egg hunt.
The city's Recreation Department and the Easter Bunny made sure there were plenty of colorful Easter Eggs on the ground for the preschoolers, who went out at 10:30 a.m. followed by the kids in Kindergarten through second grade who went out at 11:30 a.m.
Recreation Department staff instructed the kids to collect no more than 12 Easter Eggs each and said they could also hunt for the coveted silver Easter Egg that would bring with it some great prizes. The Recreation Department also offered free face painting and free lollipops and jelly beans to go along with whatever treasures the kids collected in the park.
