The film looks at the underdogs of the video game industry, indie game developers, who sacrifice money, health and sanity to realize their lifelong dreams of sharing their creative visions with the world.
This Sundance award-winning film captures the tension and drama by focusing on these artists’ vulnerability and obsessive quest to express themselves through a 21st-century art form. Not just for gamers, the film is about the driving passion of creativity, frustration and joy.

” [A] smart, involving documentary…” – Los Angeles Times “The film delivers, taking us on a journey with regular people pushed to do something different, but equally extraordinary. There is a vibrant, beating heart that powers "Indie Game: The Movie" and will hopefully serve to inspire the many of us who confine ourselves to small places and lock humanity out while struggling and striving to create something beautiful.
"Possibly the most mature look at video games yet” – IndieWire “more than just a film about video games, it’s an examination of the artistic spirit and the latest evolution of independent artist.” – Film Threat.
The Music Hall will have pre-film gaming stations set up in the lower and upper lobbies to play some indie games; plus, the audience can sit in the front row and play on the big screen!
Some of the video games that will be available include: Super Meat Boy (featured in the movie); Braid (featured in the movie); B.U.T.T.O.N, Hokra, Proteus, AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAa!!! for the Awesome and more surprises and sneak previews.
