Jazz, Rock Abound This Weekend
Restaurant Week continues; RPM Challenge Listening Party at Music Hall.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. PMAC Jazz Night: The Portsmouth Music and Arts Center will hold its 5th annual Jazz Night on Friday at the Music Hall Loft with two shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
2. Get the Led Out: For those who enjoy the legendary rock music of Led Zeppelin, the tribute band, Get the Led Out, will perform many of Led Zeppelin's best known songs on Friday at the Music Hall at 8 p.m.

3. RPM Challenge Listening Party: The Wire will host the annual RPM Challenge Listening Party at the Music Hall at 6 p.m. on Saturday where the music submitted by 1,500 musicians will be played over eight hours.
4. Splash art show: The "SPLASH! The Art of Portsmouth’s Young People" at the Portsmouth Public Library continues this weekend. It features the art work of Portsmouth children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and it is free.

5. Apocalyptic theater: The Players Ring will present "An Evening of Apocalyptic Theatre" on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. on Sunday at 7 p.m. Join John Herman and friends as they present drama, comedy, romance, and even music.
