Jazzmouth, Live Music This Weekend
Players Ring presents George Orwell's "Animal Farm"; Heather Maloney Band at Dolphin Striker Friday night.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. Jazzmouth opens wide: The 7th annual Jazzmouth Poetry and Jazz Festival continues from Friday through through Sunday with several live performances and readings at different venues. Here is the complete schedule.
2. See the Heather Maloney Band: The Dolphin Striker will present the Heather Maloney Band on Friday night from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and there is no cover charge.

3. Catch Amorphous Band and People Skills: The Press Room will present the group, Amorphous Band and People Skills, on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is a $6 cover charge at the door.
4. Music for "Sense and Sensibility": The Andover Chamber Music will perform at the Music Hall on Sunday at 2 and 4 p.m. the program, "Sense and Sensibility" inspired by the novel by author Jane Austen. Tickets are $35.

5. "Animal Farm" at Players Ring: The Players Ring will present George Orwell's classic "Animal Farm" on stage on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. on Sunday at 7 p.m.
