On Friday, Seacoast author Doug Zeckel, aka K.D. Mason, signed copies of his latest book, "Changing Tides," at Tugboat Alley on Bow Street..

Drawing on decades of experience in the restaurant business, as well as his passion for running and sailing, Zeckel, former owner of Saunders at Rye Harbor, under the name K.D. Mason, now weaves compelling and entertaining tales of mystery, romance and suspense in the N.H. Seacoast.

"Harbor Ice" is the first in the series. Though based on the beautiful coast of New Hampshire, this page turner takes us worldwide in search of clues. "Harbor Ice" takes us on a suspenseful ride from Rye, New Hampshire, to Switzerland to Taos, New Mexico--with plenty of romance along the way.

It has been a brutally cold winter on the New Hampshire coastal town of Rye Harbor, leaving drifts of sea water frozen solid in the salt marsh. Finally the weather warms enough for the ice to begin to break up and drift out to sea. That's when a woman's body is found under a slab of ice. This triggers a series of events which draw the reader in to this breakneck, page-turner. A sharp thriller with a genuine romance and compelling characters.

"Changing Tides," the latest in the Jack Beale series, is a taut page-turner, set against the beautiful backdrop of coastal New Hampshire and the azure waters of Belize. On a perfect summer morning in Rye Harbor, Jack Beale discovers a lifeless body wedged between the bow of his boat and the float. That discovery begins an intriguing tale of suspense and romance with many twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end.
