Portsmouth-based blog Seacoast Lately reaches an exciting milestone!

With a youthful online presence, a stunning display of seacoast photography, and daily celebratory nods to local businesses, Portsmouth-based Seacoast Lately has made a name for itself here on the seacoast.
Founded and managed by New Castle native Maggie Sutherland, Seacoast Lately is a Portsmouth-based business that has been promoting local events, coastal scenery, and independently-owned businesses from Exeter to Kennebunkport for the last year and a half. On Monday, Seacoast Lately reached an outstanding 10,000 followers on Instagram - the popular photo-sharing social media platform.
“I feel fortunate to be a positive influence in a community I have been blessed to call home for the past 24 years,” says Sutherland, who was an art major and business minor at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

“Reaching this point is a huge milestone for my business — it is all made possible because of this amazing community; I am grateful that so many people follow Seacoast Lately and are enthusiastic about what we’re doing!”
While at Colby, Sutherland completed multiple internships in New York City where she learned the ins and outs of social media marketing, blogging, and public relations before returning to the seacoast and launching her own business. This successful location-based business consists of a website, blog, and social media resources that provides both locals and visitors with discerning information on where to eat, shop, stay, and play throughout the coasts of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Seacoast Lately shines a light on under-the-radar creatives; it dishes out information on businesses old and new, and each week sends out a newsletter of information that includes a curated list of local events.
