Man Reportedly Jumps From Portsmouth Building
Breaking: Police are investigating a body found on Middle Street in Downtown Portsmouth.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Police are investigating a body found on Middle Street in downtown Portsmouth this morning believed to be a person who jumped from a building, according to alerts online. Police were sent to the street this morning to investigate the incident sometime before 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2017. An area at Middle and Court streets, from Richards Avenue, was cordoned off during the investigation.
The streets were reopened at just before 9 a.m., according to a post on Twitter. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Portsmouth NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
One witness noted online around 8:30 a.m. that people should avoid the area because of a jumper investigation. Kimberley Haas, a reporter for the New Hampshire Union Leader, confirmed that a man was found passed away on the sidewalk and that the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is not investigating the incident. In recent years, according to residents, there have been a number of incidents from that building, according to a post online.
