Marshals Catch Fugitive in Rochester Woods

Jeremy Jackson, a New Hampshire fugitive, was arrested for probation violations after being convicted of forgery.

On Sept. 24, 2015, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive, Jeremy Jackson, 24, of Rochester, according to a press statement.

The U.S. Marshals were requested to assist in the location and arrest of Jackson, who was wanted on an outstanding Strafford County warrant for probation violations. Jackson was on probation for an original conviction and sentence for forgery.

“ The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took on this case because Jackson has an extensive criminal history, including violence, drugs and resisting arrest,” according to U.S. Deputy Jeffrey White.

Members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force were actively looking for Jackson in the Somersworth and Rochester areas. At one of the locations, a couple of members of the task force were in the process of setting up surveillance on Norway Plains in Rochester when Jackson was observed in the parking lot walking towards the woods, according to a statement. Members of the task force ordered Jackson to stop and he allegedly fled into the woods. Task Force officers pursued Jackson and were able to subdue Jackson in the woods after a short chase, and arrest him without any further incident.

Jackson was transported to the Strafford County Jail, where he was processed and held pending his initial court appearance at the Strafford County Superior Court.

This arrest was made by several members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, including members from the Strafford & Rockingham County Sheriff’s Offices, NH Department of Corrections – Probation and Parole, Department of State, and deputy U.S. Marshals.
