Memorial Bridge Lighting System Goes Online Tonight
A group raised more than $200,000 to make it happen.

A group that raised more than $200,000 to light the Memorial Bridge will have its dream realized tonight.
The Memorial Bridge Illumination Subcommittee, consisting of citizens, city officials, and businesses, will flip the lights on during a celebration ceremony. The event will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Seacoast Rep Theater on Bow Street.
Following the reception, the group will go to the Harbor Place deck to watch the lighting system go online. The system will light the bridge towers and the memorial plaque throughout the year.
Crews have tested the lighting system several times this month.
The energy-efficient, color-changing LED light fixtures were made by Lumenpulse.
The Memorial Bridge reopened in August after a replacement project.
