Music, Green Cars and Comedy on Tap This Weekend
Skyler at Music Hall Loft; Electric cars invade Music Hall; Comedy Enlightenment at Players Ring.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. See "Revenge of the Electric Car": The Music Hall will show director Chris Paine's 90-minute film, "Revenge of the Electric Car," on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. that will be followed by a panel discussion about electric cars. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors, students and military members.
2. Check out "Comedy Enlightened": The Players Ring will perform, "Comedy, Enlightened," a collection of plays written by Eric Doucet, featuring “The Inner Light Movement,” “Cool Hand Kenny,” “All Goats Lead to Home” and more, on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m.

3. See Skyler in concert: The rock band Skyler and the Band of Thieves will perform twos shows this Saturday in the Music Hall Loft at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to benefit Seacoast Local's HEAT program. Tickets are $8 to $10 for people under 18 or who have a student ID and regular admission is $12 to $15.
4. Lego Engineer Day: The Portsmouth Public Library will host Lego Engineer Day on Saturday for families and children under 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can name their creations and have them displayed at the library and the event is free.

5. Discover Portsmouth Center: The Discover Portsmouth Center on Middle Street is always a great place for families to learn more about the city's history and cultural heritage.
