New Board Game, Puzzle Store Opens in City

As this unwelcome stretch of rainy weather continues, a new puzzle and game store that just opened on Deer Street may have the perfect option for families who are stuck inside the house.

Retailing company Incipix Corporation announced the opening of Diversions Puzzles & Games at 33 Deer St. in Portsmouth. Diversions Puzzles & Games sells a wide selection of board games and puzzles for all ages and interests, including the latest strategy games and classic wooden puzzles.

“While technology has brought us information and capabilities we never imagined just a few years ago, we all need to untether from our many electronic devices from time-to-time. Playing board games and doing puzzles provides an ideal way to re-connect socially with spouses, family and friends,” said Ted Keith, CEO.

This concept has resonated with many people, including those who get together with a group of friends for activities and parents wishing to unplug their children from the many electronic devices available today.

Guests will find a wide variety of the latest puzzles and games, including Eurogames, historical simulation games and expansion sets for many popular games. Keith noted: “The big box stores don’t carry the selection we have and our staff can help our guests find a game or puzzle that meets their needs. We can also special order games and puzzles”. He also noted: “There are many wonderful games and puzzles in the market today – our guests are sometimes surprised at the variety available, especially if they haven’t played in a few years”.

The store carries many traditional games, such as cribbage, dominos and Chinese checkers, which has helped guests reconnect with a favorite from childhood or those their parents and grandparents played. “Puzzles and games are a traditional activity for spending time with family and we hope people can re-discover these valuable avenues for creating special memories”, said Keith.
