NH Citizens for the Arts Honor Ferrier, Grazier
Co-founder of the Portsmouth Music and Arts Center and coordinator of the Gallery at WREN in Bethlehem will be feted on Jan. 22.

CONCORD, NH - On Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, New Hampshire Citizens for the Arts is honoring both Katherine Ferrier and Russ Grazier for being champions of the arts.
A reception in their honor will be held at the Kimball House at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, according to a press statement. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes remarks from Symphony New Hampshire conductor, Jonathan McPhee, as well as the presentation of the awards.
Katherine Ferrier is described as one who has tirelessly worked to promote and provide access to the arts. Under her spirited leadership the town of Bethlehem has been transformed into a “go to arts community.” As coordinator of the Gallery at WREN, Katherine doubled sales in the first year and increased the general membership by 20 percent. Katherine is the embodiment of an arts advocate. She lives in an art world and engages all around her to participate, enjoy, and spread the wealth of arts and culture.

Russ Grazier is the CEO and director of Music Education and a co-founder of the Portsmouth Music and Arts Center which has grown tremendously since its founding 13 years ago. Starting with 5 instructors, 12 students and one ensemble, PMAC now provides employment for 50 of the top artists and musicians in the region to who instruct 800 students a year through more than 20 youth and adult ensembles, art classes for all ages, private lessons and more. PMAC draws hundreds of students and families from all over the Seacoast, Maine and Massachusetts, driving business to the West End of Portsmouth and contributing to the vibrant arts economy of the Islington Street “Arts Corridor.”...Russ has gained recognition as a true leader in the arts community of the Seacoast and of New Hampshire through his demonstrated dedication to access to the arts for all and his continuous support of all arts and culture organizations.”
Immediately following the reception is a symphony concert performed by Symphony New Hampshire at the Concord City Auditorium. The concert will feature an evening dedicated to the work of many masters. The concert will play the following pieces: Pulcinella Suite by Stravinsky, Classical Symphony by Prokofiev, Le Tombeau de Couperin by Ravel and Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky.

Tickets for the concert and reception are $60– which benefit NH Citizens for the Arts - can be purchased online by visiting nhcfa.org/Symphony and using the code CFA2016.
New Hampshire Citizens for the Arts is a statewide non-partisan volunteer organization which has existed for over thirty years that advocates for development, education and support of the arts, representing all of the cultural resources of our state. They work to promote the arts, not only for their intrinsic benefits, but also for their importance to our culture and economy in New Hampshire.
