New Hampshire State Police K-9 Finds Missing Elderly Woman In Portsmouth

K-9 "Wyatt" found the woman about a mile from where she went missing on Banfield Road on Tuesday.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit, troopers, and police officers spent a good portion of Tuesday trying to find a missing elderly woman in Portsmouth.

A 76-year-old went missing around 9:30 a.m., after walking away from her home. Just before noon, Portsmouth police requested the assistance of a New Hampshire State Police K-9 to assist.

“Portsmouth police feared that the woman was lost and unable to find her way home,” Amber Lagace, a public information officer for the state police, said.

Troopers were called in, including “Wyatt,” a K-9 unit, and they began searching the area of Banfield Road where the woman was seen last. After a lengthy search, the woman was found safely by Wyatt, about 1.1 miles away.
