No Finish Line Running (NFLR) adds two more certified coaches to staff

Local coaching service continues to train runners of all abilities

More than a club, No Finish Line Running (NFLR) now boasts a staff of 6 Road Runner Club of America (RRCA) certified coaches. Julie Butterfield and Amy Spencer are the latest additions to a staff NFLR Founder Mike Davis referred to as “an approachable team of professional coaches.”

“Elite runners work with coaches, but certified coaching can especially benefit the everyday runner who wants to improve and is not sure how to go about it,” Davis said.

As for what it means, NFLR Coach Doug MacKinnon said RRCA Certification emphasizes “the use of intelligent training plans based on scientific evidence.”

“The goal is to help runners achieve their goals while minimizing the risk of injury,” he said. “While the running boom on the Seacoast is exciting, we are also seeing a lot of runners who aren’t exactly sure how to put a proper training plan together.”

Providing participants with tools and customizable training plans—both available online—NFLR offers a variety of services, including corporate training programs for companies like Stonewall Kitchen. “We are in our second year working with them and seeing some great results,” added Davis.

Special themed training groups are also popular with NFLR’s annual Destination Race Training Group set to kick off this Saturday on August 6. This year’s goal is for runner to participate in the White Mountain Half Marathon & 10K Relay Race on Sunday, October 30.

The Group will meet on Saturdays at 8 am and Wednesdays at 6 pm and at the NFLR Coaching and Endurance Resource Training Center at 44G Dover Point Road in Dover.

“The goal for us is to create a running community with access to professional coaching services designed for people of all abilities,” said Davis.
