Portsmouth Police say there is currently no threat to the public after incident earlier today – but would like help solving the case.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating a first-degree assault incident on July 25, 2016, after a person was stabbed in the area of Pearson Street. According to Lt. Mark Newport of the Portsmouth Police Department, “the victim received stab wounds which were non-life threatening injuries” and was medically treated and released. The department’s investigative division “is following up on many leads and witness interviews,” he noted.
“The investigation so far has confirmed this as an isolated incident and there currently is no threat to the public,” Newport said.
Seacoastonline.com reported earlier tonight that Portsmouth Police Chief David Mara said that investigators are looking at a road-rage incident in Seabrook last night as a part of the case.
