Plenty of Music, Film and Theater This Weekend in Portsmouth
See "Margin Call" at Music Hall Loft; check out Superfrog at the Press Room on Friday night; or seek some comedy enlightment at the Players Ring.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Thursday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. Superfrog at the Pressroom: Superfrog will perform their brand of rock and funk fusion at the Pressroom on Friday at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge at the door.
2. Check out "Comedy Enlightened": The Players Ring will perform, "Comedy, Enlightened," a collection of plays written by Eric Doucet, featuring “The Inner Light Movement,” “Cool Hand Kenny,” “All Goats Lead to Home” and more, on Friday at 8 p.m.

3. Discover Portsmouth Center: The Discover Portsmouth Center on Middle Street is always a great place for families to learn more about the city's history and cultural heritage.
4. Good-Vibes Fridays at The Gaslight: On Saturday at 8 p.m., Good-Vibes D.J.'s DJ Flex and Koko-P jam out the "Good-Vibes" featuring the best music mix of top 40, reggae, club remixes & classic party anthems. There is no charge to get in before 10 p.m. and a $5 charge after 10 p.m.

5. "Margin Call" at Music Hall Loft: The movie, "Margin Call," starring Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore and Stanley Tucci which focuses on one investment firm's struggles during a 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial meltdown on Wall Street is playing at the Music Hall Loft on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.
