UPDATED: Police Probe Death of City Man in Hotel Hot Tub

Police: Autopsy results from NH Medical Examiner's office for Portsmouth man was found dead in a hot tub at Anchorage Hotel on Sunday night did not show any unusual.

Update 4:00 p.m.

Portsmouth Police Deputy Chief Stephen DuBois said Tuesday afternoon the results of an autopsy of a 44-year-old Portsmouth man who was found dead in a hotel hot tub did not reveal anything out of the ordinary.

DuBois said police are still waiting for toxicology reports to determine the cause of death of the man who had checked into the Anchorage Inn and Suites Hotel alone. At this point, police do not suspect any foul play was involved, DuBois added.

DuBois also said police are not revealing the man's identity until they compile more information about how the man died during what continues to be an ongoing investigation.

Police are investigating an untimely death of a city man who was found in a hot tub at the Anchorage Inn on Sunday night.

According to the Portsmouth Police log, Portsmouth firefighters and EMTs were dispatched to the hotel on Sunday at 11:18 p.m. after a caller told the emergency dispatcher the man was in the hot tub and not breathing.

The Portsmouth Police log also reported that CPR was “not initiated” at the scene.

The police log also reported that a medical examiner, funeral home and relatives were notified.

WMUR reported the man was 44 years old and that police did noy suspect foul play. The television news station also reported that police are awaiting toxicology and autopsy results.
