Police Report Multi-Car Accident on Route 1 Bypass Bridge

State Police and Kittery Police also responded to the crash that was on Kittery side of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, June 13.

Monday:

  • At 10:13 a.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident where the driver hit two cars on Congress Street near Jumpin' Jay's Fish Cafe and left the scene.
  • At 11:07 a.m., police reported a theft of a bicycle from a Maplewood Avenue residence.
  • At 11:10 a.m., police arrested a Rochester woman who was wanted as a futive after she walked into the Portsmouth Police station and turned her self in. Ashley Mankreed Dickerson, 26, of 24 Jackson St. in Rochester was charged with criminal mischief.
  • At 11:30 a.m., police reported a multi-car accident on the Sarah Mildred Long bridge on the northbound side of the Route 1-Bypass. The accident occurred on the Kittery, Maine side of the bridge and State Police along with Kittery Police responded to the scene. It was not clear if there were any serious injuries.
  • At 4:24 p.m., police arrested a Barrington man for motor vehicle offenses on Banfield Street.  Brian Calloway, 23, of 265 Young Road in Barrington was charged with driving after suspension/revocation.
  • At 8:36 p.m., security personnel at the Hanover Street parking garage detained two juveniles who were caught throwing eggs off the fourth level. One of the juveniles was taken into protective custody by Portsmouth Police.
