
The Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail will hold a ceremony Wednesday honoring the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s march on Washington.
There will be a musical street procession from the Discover Portsmouth Center to the African Burial Ground on Chestnut Street. The public is invited.

- 2:45 p.m. Gather at Discover Portsmouth
- 3:00 p.m. Join in Nationwide ringing of bells
- 3:05 p.m. Procession to African Burying Ground
- 3:15 p.m. Memorial Ceremony, Music and Reading of King’s “I Have a Dream”
- 3:30 p.m. Return to Discover Portsmouth for refreshments
