Portsmouth Featured on New Fox TV Show

Scenes for the sitcom were shot in the city last October.

The city of Portsmouth makes a few cameos in the new Fox sitcom "The Goodwin Games," which premiered Monday night.

The New Hampshire Film Festival posted a note on its Facebook page on Thursday pointing out that at 2:35 and 8:43 of the pilot episode, there are shots of the Portsmouth waterfront. The first appearance is a daytime shot in the opening credits, while the second is a nighttime shot of the waterfront shown as one of the main characters is heading to a local bar.

"The Goodwin Games" is set in the fictional town of Granby, New Hampshire, and is filmed mostly in Los Angeles. But according to the Boston Globe, some establishing scenes for the sitcom were shot in Portsmouth last October. If the show is picked up, the crew is expected to return to the city to shoot more film of Portsmouth.

The show is by the same people who created "How I Met Your Mother," and stars New Hampshire Film Festival alum T.J. Miller as one of the three Goodwin children.
