Portsmouth Kids: Wear Your Bike Helmet, Maybe Get Pizza!
Police, the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire, and Domino's wants to encourage child bicycle safety this summer.

PORTSMOUTH, NH – The Portsmouth NH Police Department has launched its newest community policing initiative.
According to a press statement, beginning on July 1, 2016, the department has partnered with the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire and the local Domino’s pizza chain in an effort to boost their citation numbers ... but in a good way.
Officers will be issuing citations to children they witness riding their bicycles while wearing their helmets, according to Capt. Frank Warchol of the Portsmouth Police Department.

"The 'paperwork' congratulates them," he noted, "for being a safe rider for wearing their helmet and entitles them to one free small pizza at the local Portsmouth Domino’s pizza chain. "
Warchol stated that this was "a wonderful way for officers to interact with the children of the community they serve and it also gives incentive to the children to protect themselves the best they can while out on their bikes."
