Portsmouth Man Arrested on Assault, Protective Order Violation Charges
Police: George Rinalducci refused to surrender; said officers would have to "shoot him" if they attempted an arrest.

An elderly man is in custody after an alleged domestic assault at his home.
George Rinalducci, 71, of Austin Street in Portsmouth, was arrested on simple assault and violation of a protective order.
Officers were sent to Austin Street for a report of a domestic assault on Sept. 27. Before they arrived, the suspect, Rinalducci, had fled the area. The victim, a woman, was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and treated.

Rinalducci allegedly tried to reach the victim via cellphone while she was at the hospital and was advised by police to turn himself in. The officer warned that he would be charged and also served with a protection order. Rinalducci allegedly stated “that he was not going to turn himself in and if any officers attempted to arrest him, law enforcement would have to shoot him,” according to the report.
Rinalducci was reported to be an avid marksman and gun collector so members of the Seacoast Emergency Response Team also with Greenland, Newington and New Hampshire State Police were called to assist with the capture of Rinalducci.

Police later learned that Rinalducci might be in Dover, specifically at Dover Point Road. He vehicle was found there. However, police also learned that a business associate had picked him up and they were heading back to Portsmouth, according to police.
In Portsmouth, police met up with the friend and found out that Rinalducci was inside a residence with his friend’s elderly mother. He was taken into custody without incident around 3:20 a.m.
Rinalducci is due in Portsmouth District Court on Sept. 29.
