Portsmouth Police Begin Working on Heroin PSAs

Local director, producer Michael Venn will be working with the department to tackle public concern about the opiate problem.

The Portsmouth Police Department is partnering with local director and producer Michael Venn to produce Public Service Announcements directed toward those with opioid addictions, according to Portsmouth Police Chief Stephen DuBois.

DuBois stated that the PSAs were part of a “multi-pronged approach” that the department would be taking, in addition to its enforcement efforts, in order to help get those people trapped in opiate addiction the services they need. He added that the department also wished to bring to light information on an issue of public concern.

The PSAs will include many of the department’s partners in the community from educators, politicians, those who work in recovery, those in recovery, heath care providers and faith based organizations.
