Portsmouth Police: Lock Your Cars!

Break-ins have been reported around the city mostly from unlocked cars.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Over the past several days, the city of Portsmouth has experienced a sharp increase in the amount of vehicle break-ins across the city, according to acting Deputy Chief Frank Warchol. The majority of vehicles broken into were left unlocked and were gone through during overnight hours.

“This is a friendly reminder to all of our residents to please lock the doors to your vehicles each and every night and to remove anything of value into your home,” he said in a statement. “This is the perfect season for opportunity for would be thieves.”

Police also want resident to be vigilant. Notify the Portsmouth Police Department if you see or hear anything that you may feel is out of the ordinary.
