Portsmouth Police Log: Men Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges
Plus, a Massachusetts man was arrested for driving after revocation and speeding.

Bruce Jarvis, 46, of Brewster Street in Portsmouth, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. on July 18, 2015, and charged with domestic violence-simple assault, domestic violence-false imprisonment, domestic violence-obstructing report of crime, two counts of resisting arrest or detention, and default or breach of bail conditions. Officers were sent to an apartment on Brewster Street for a report of a woman screaming “get away from me” and a man yelling as well. The man, Jarvis, was arrested and taken into custody. After processing at the station, he was transported by fire and rescue teams to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and then later to Rockingham County Prison.

Terrance M. Murphy, 56, of Buckminster Way in Portsmouth, was arrested at 8:23 a.m. on July 19, for domestic violence-obstructing the report of crime or injury, obstructing the report of crime or injury, and false imprisonment. Officers were sent to Buckminster Way for a woman allegedly that her husband was “out of control.” She alleged that Murphy shoved her into a refrigerator and hit in the stomach. While on the phone with dispatch, Murphy could allegedly be heard asking the woman who she was speaking with and was also trying to leave the scene. Murphy allegedly took the caller’s cellphone and left in his Mercedes. Police caught up with her heading toward Greenland and he was arrested. An emergency DVO was issued later that day.

Robert Barker, 23, of Strathmore Road in Haverhill, MA, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. on July 19, for driving after revocation or suspension and speeding. He was arrested after a traffic stop on the Route 1 Bypass northbound near Woodbury Avenue.
