Portsmouth Police Seek Tips About Potential Assault Suspects
Seacoast Crime Stoppers: Cops are examining a choking-assault investigation near Gilley's in June. Do you know who these two men are?
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Investigators inside the Portsmouth Police Department are asking for the public’s help in solving a reported assault case from June of this year, according to a post on Facebook. At just before 1 a.m. on June 7, 2016, officers were sent downtown for a report of an assault.

According to dispatch, a caller alleged that two men came up from behind him and choked him. The victim alleged that the two men were arguing with a woman and he “stood up for her” and they allegedly attacked him, punching him in the head and then choking him. The caller said it happened by Gilley’s PM Lunch and he was calling from the Portwalk Marriott.

The caller headed back to Gilley’s and then spoke with police about the incident. Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams were sent to evaluate the man and then, cleared him.
Police obtained surveillance shots from Gilley’s of the men they would like to identify and speak with about this incident.
