Portsmouth Woman Arrested on Cocaine Dealing Charges

Amy Matton was arrested after a six-month investigation into drug dealing in the city.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A local woman will be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court tomorrow after a six-month investigation into drug dealing in the city by the police department’s high intensity drug interdiction team and the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to a press statement.

Amy Matton, 38, of Gosling Road in Portsmouth, was arrested on July 20, 2016, on three counts of sale of a controlled drug-cocaine and possession of a controlled drug-cocaine.

According to Det. Sgt. John Peracchi, the DEA, along with local police, spent six months investigating the unlawful alleged cocaine sales in the city and after the investigation, issued charges against Matton.

Matton was arrested today and held on $1,000 cash bail and $10,000 personal recognizance bail. She’s due to be arraigned on July 21, by video.

If convicted, she faces between 21 and 45 years in jail, according to Peracchi.
