Portsmouth's Elle Shaheen Appears in National PSA
The spot aired on Tuesday's "The Colbert Report."
A public service announcement starring Portsmouth's Elle Shaheen aired during Tuesday's "Colbert Report" on Comedy Central.
Shaheen is the daughter of Stefany Shaheen, who was recently elected to the Portsmouth City Council. She's also the granddaughter of U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH.
The PSA, titled "Stand Up, Step Forward," seeks to spread awareness of child abuse. It was produced in association with the National Children's Alliance. Shaheen plays a victim who approaches a teacher about being abused. The teacher is played by Constance Witman, of Newfields.
The spot was also produced by Exeter High School graduate Kevin Gendron.
