The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on the preliminary project engineering work conducted by Weston and Sampson and the public feedback received from the September 15 meeting and subsequent “virtual office hours.” This meeting will detail the next steps for implementing Phase One of the Master Plan.

In 2019 Weston and Sampson Engineers performed a preliminary engineering study to implement the Master Plan and complete the first phase of the Master Plan design. The consultant has completed a topographical survey of the Park, a survey of the underground utilities infrastructure and an assessment of the historic buildings. In addition, the consultants completed a tidal inundation study to establish resiliency goals for the upgraded park. These initial enabling engineering tasks identified design questions for further analysis and public input.

The current Blue Ribbon Committee appointed in May 2020 to oversee this work and recommend future phasing and design details for City Council consideration has worked with Weston and Sampson on next steps for Phase One of implementing the Master Plan detailed in the City’s Capital Improvement Program.
