Rochester Man Dies of Apparent Electrocution
Portsmouth Police are investigating the death of David Dufresne Jr. yesterday morning on Congress Street.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Police are investigating a sudden death in an apartment on Congress Street on Monday morning, according to a press statement. At around 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 16, 2016, police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Congress Street for a report of an unresponsive man.
“Personnel from the Portsmouth Fire Department verified the scene was safe and evaluated the patient and determined that his injuries were fatal,” according to Det. Sgt. John Peracchi of the Portsmouth Police Department.
The man was later identified as David Dufresne Jr., 52, of Rochester.

“The victim was working on an electrical appliance when he suffered an apparent electrocution,” according to Peracchi.
The investigation is ongoing, pending an autopsy by the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office. Preliminary findings are that the death was accidental, he noted.
