Hazardous Weather Alert Issued for NH

Possible thunderstorms, flooding, as well as coastal flooding and splash-over on the Seacoast expect tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for New Hampshire at just before 1 p.m. on June 5, 2016.

The alert is for the entire state.

“Widespread rainfall” – of up to two inches in places, it expected through the day and into the evening, with the heaviest rain expect to start this afternoon. There could be “some minor flooding of poor drainage locations” as well as “ponding of water on roadways,” according to the alert. River flooding, however, is not expected.

A coastal flooding and splash-over warning was also issued for the Seacoast.

“High astronomical tides combined with a strengthening onshore flow and building seas will produce splash-over and minor coastal flooding with tonight’s high tide,” according to the alert.

The strongest activity will be from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday.

Showers are expected through Tuesday with “severe thunderstorms expected,” according to the alert.
