State Senator Files for District 3 Executive Council Seat
Russell Prescott seeks the seat that covers Exeter, Hampton, Portsmouth, Salem, Windham, and other towns at the Statehouse in Concord.

CONCORD, NH: Long-time tax fighter and state Sen. Russell Prescott, R-Exeter, officially filed his candidacy for New Hampshire’s Executive Council on June 8, 2016, according to a press statement.
“In the Senate I’ve been an advocate for lower spending, job creation, accountability and reform," he said. "Government should do a few things and do them well. It’s time government got back to basics – good roads, good schools, safe (drug-free) communities and opportunity for all. Concord collects plenty of taxes to meet all these needs, but too often they squander it away. Or give it away to special interests. For me, serving on the Executive Council will be about accountability. About holding the Governor and Concord’s feet to the fire. And I’ll ensure that taxpayers get maximum value for their tax dollars.”
Prescott first won elected office by defeating a pro-income tax, Republican incumbent in the GOP primary, and pledged then, and stands by his commitment to protect the taxpayer now, according to the statement. He is a husband and father to five grown children, co-owner of R.E. Prescott Company in Exeter which manufactures and distributes water treatment and pump systems. He is the first state Senator in New Hampshire history to hold a patent.
