Seacoast Permaculture Home & Garden Tours Announced
Seacoast Permaculture announces its summer tour series of local, sustainable gardens and homes!

Seacoast Permaculture announces its summer tour series of local, sustainable gardens and homes happening on June 24, July 8 and September 9. These tours will take place on three area properties being managed with permaculture principles of sustainability and food production. An urban food oasis, a community garden, and a market garden at an historic property will be featured, showing the flexibility and potential that permaculture offers.
Attendees will learn about permaculture, get new ideas, learn new techniques, and be inspired. Each tour host will talk about their original goals and plans, what has worked for them and what hasn't, and what plans they are currently developing.
The series begins on Saturday, June 24, at 3pm in Portsmouth, NH, demonstrating growing food organically on a small lot in town.

The second tour will be on Saturday, July 8, 3pm at The Wagon Hill Farm Community Garden in Durham NH. This Garden has grown from 6 people with 9 growing plots in 2009 into a busy 112 bed, 80 gardener operation. Since they have a mission to the community as a whole, they also maintain a large Food Pantry Bed and make regular contributions to Durham food pantries throughout the season. Last year they contributed over 700 lbs of fresh, local, organic produce.
The third tour will take place on Saturday, September 9, 11am at Goss Farm in Rye NH. This historic conservation property now features a 50 foot high tunnel, several rows of blueberry bushes and 1/4 acre field being managed organically and permaculturally.

The cost is a suggested donation of $5-20 per person, per tour.
