Seacoast Wind Ensemble - Three Concerts this Week!
Join the Seacoast Wind Ensemble for one (or all) of their performances this week: July 21, 22, and 24.
The Seacoast Wind Ensemble (SWE) will perform three concerts this week: July 21, 22, and 24. All concerts are free and open to the public. SWE performs under the direction of Dr. Mark Stickney, Director of Bands at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.
SWE, established in 1984, is a 50-piece concert band, based in Kittery, Maine. Comprised of musicians from all professional occupations, SWE performs annually throughout the larger NH seacoast region, as well as in the White Mountains. Upcoming concerts are: Thurs. July 21, 6pm at the Greenland, NH Gazebo at Post Rd./Rte. 151; Fri. July 22, 7pm at Elis Park in Short Sand, York Beach; and Sunday July 24, 8pm at the Nubble Lighthouse in York Beach, for Christmas in July.
The program will include music John Williams, Clare Grundman, patriotic tunes, medleys of musicals/movies, marches by Sousa and Fillmore, a Sousa suite of pieces based on alcoholic beverages, and more! The performance at Nubble Lighthouse will include a full holiday-themed concert for Christmas in July; the lighthouse will be lit and Santa will visit on a firetruck! There’s sure to be something new and something familiar for everyone in the audience!
