Center for Women's Business Advancement of Southern New Hampshire University, SCORE also involved in Nov. 4 event.

On Nov. 4, Service Credit Union will host a free, half-day Business Connection conference for new and seasoned business owners who have served in the U.S. military, in collaboration with the Center for Women’s Business Advancement of Southern New Hampshire University and SCORE, according to a press statement.

“Service Credit Union has a long, storied history of helping the military and veterans since it first started on Pease Air Force Base in 1957,” says Gordon Simmons, President/CEO of Service Credit Union. “We appreciate their sacrifice and as Veteran’s Day approaches this clearly shows our dedication toward those who have served our country and now serve our business communities.”

The Deploy Your Business for Growth conference kicks off with a keynote address by Tony Matos of Altos Marketing, a full-service digital marketing agency. Matos, a commissioned officer from West Point, spent more than a decade serving in the Army and years in the defense industry. He’ll discuss how to leverage military experience for business success.

Workshops will follow two tracks. “The discipline and perseverance that it takes to excel in the military translates very well to small business ownership,” said Center for Women’s Business Advancement at Southern New Hampshire University Executive Director MaryAnn Manoogian. “The best small business owners are creative problem solvers who can also capitalize on great opportunities and this conference will help veterans to learn and build upon the skills that it takes to create an excellent strategy for growth.”

The conference will be held at the Hospitality Building of Southern New Hampshire University, 2500 North River Road, Manchester. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast and bag lunch. Space is limited and registration is required. Register or learn more by visiting servicecu.org/businessconnection.
