Severely Neglected Dogs Saved by NHSPCA
The rescue group said they found the dogs with matted coats, rotten teeth, and covered in feces.

The following is a news release:
On Wednesday, October 22, the New Hampshire SPCA responded to a request from the Kingston Police Department to assist them with two dogs that were found to be severely neglected. The small two dogs, whose breed could not even be determined at first, were terribly matted and covered in their own feces.
Accompanied by the Kingston PD, Steve Sprowl, Humane Agent for the New Hampshire SPCA went to the home and the owners surrendered the animals. They were immediately brought to the New Hampshire SPCA to be seen by our Veterinarian. The dogs names are Princess and Snoopy. Both had matts so thick that they shaved off like wool. Princess was suffering from a urine burn on her foot and neither of their nails had been cared for, causing painful walking. They were covered in fleas and many of their teeth were too rotten to save. One of the dogs had 13 rotten teeth pulled.

A wire was found wrapped around Princesses waist and twisted, a string was twisted between her toes. The pain must have been awful for the poor little dog, who turned out to be small white poodle. Snoopy was equally neglected, with matts and feces covering his little body.
The Veterinarian synopses was that they were both underweight and severely neglected.

The two are now clean and eating and just beginning their recovery. We aren’t sure how long it will take to get them ready for adoption. But hopefully soon they will have a real home where people will actually care about them.
Unfortunately, animal abuse and neglect continues in our state. Whether it is a herd of horses without food or shelter, or two little dogs with no one to turn to, the New Hampshire SPCA stands at the ready to help animals in need. If you see anything that indicates that an animal is being mistreated, please contact our Humane Agent, Steve Sprowl, at 603-772-2921 x111.
