Shampoo dilemma! help me!

Using baby shampoo because you think its more gentle for your color treated hair? Think again!
I had a client tell me that she used baby shampoo to care for her color treated hair because she thought it was even more gentle than color protecting shampoo.
The two biggest culprits to color fading are sodium chloride (salt) and high pH. I did not read the back of the ingredients to determine if salt was in the shampoo but baby shampoos are designed to have a pH of 7.
When we are born we are eyes, skin and hair are far less acidic. A baby's skin and hair is at a pH of or around 7, which is neutral like water. As we get older we develop an acid mantle and our skin and hair becomes more acidic, in the ranges of 4.5 and 5.5, and anything more alkaline than that, when it comes to hair will open up our hair's cuticle layer.
When the cuticle layer is opened up you loose moisture, essential fatty acids and if you invest in hair color, all of those beautiful color molecules are falling out of your strands of hair!
So protect your health and beauty of your hair and make sure you have the right science behind your haircare.
